South Africa: Worldspreads SA Marketing (Pty) Ltd
Established and obtained Financial Services Board (FSB) approval in April 2009. In addition to offering a full range of Spread Trading prices on all of the local markets the company offers all of the markets available to its UK client base in SA. Its website is fully integrated with the company's call centre and trades placed over the telephone may be closed online or vice versa.
Meet the Team
Conor Foley, Chief Executive Officer
Conor is co-founder and Chief Executive of WorldSpreads Group. Prior to establishing WorldSpreads he had 11 years of experience in the financial services sector. Conor has a Masters Degree (M.A.) in Economics from University College, Dublin. He was Chief Dealer with Smurfit Paribas Bank from 1995-1998 (having joined the bank in 1989) with overall responsibility for the risk management of the bank's foreign exchange. He has twice been shortlisted by Ernst & Young for Entrepreneur Of The Year in Ireland.
Matthew Twomey, Managing Director, Worldspreads South Africa
Matthew has been working in the Spread Trading industry for over 15 years mainly based in the UK. Although originally involved in sports spread trading he crossed over to financials in 2001. Prior to that Matthew worked as an accountant and holds a BComm degree from University College Dublin. He joined Worldspreads Ireland in 2005 and relocated to Cape Town in 2008 to set up and run the South African subsidiary.
