The aim of the WorldSpreads Group is to provide high quality sports and financial betting services to a global audience. The Group had its beginnings in Dublin in 2000 as World Spreads offering sports spread betting and sports fixed odds and on-line gaming services. Extending its service in 2003 to financial markets, the company grew quickly to become the leading provider of spread betting services in Ireland. With much of its business also coming from the UK, in 2004 the Group established a London office, obtaining UK regulatory authorisation from the Financial Services Authority and saw the birth of the WorldSpreads brand and the establishment of the two sides to the Group business structure.

In order to ensure the highest standards of service, and to drive its expansion to an international audience, the Group has assembled a team with an envious track record in the industry. UK: WorldSpreads Limited

Established in 2004, obtained FSA regulation in November of that year and initiated trading in January 2005. It offers a full range of spread betting prices on all the major financial markets, including stock indices, individual shares, currencies and interest rates. Its website is fully integrated with the company's call center and trades placed over the telephone may be closed online or vice versa.

Ireland: WorldSpreads (Ireland) Limited

Formerly called Share Spread, they are the financial trading division of WorldSpreads Ireland operations. The telephone and Internet gaming company was established in March, 2000. It offers a full range of spread betting prices on all the major financial markets, including stock indices, individual shares, currencies and interest rates. The company also quotes prices on the percentage movement in UK and Irish house prices. Its website is fully integrated with the company's call centre and trades placed over the telephone may be closed online or vice versa.

Group Managing Director: Conor Foley

Co-founder of WorldSpreads, Dublin, Conor joined Smurfit Paribas Bank in 1989 where he was Chief Dealer between 1995-1998 with overall responsibility for the risk management of the bank's foreign exchange exposure. Prior to this, he had been Head of Corporate Treasury within the bank. In 1998, he established his own currency futures trading company, Old Rome Investments Ltd, in Finex Europe at the IFSC, Dublin. Conor has been short-listed twice for Ernst & Young Irish Entrepreneur of the Year in the Emerging Companies category. In 2003 he was awarded the Irish Marketing Strategist of the Year by the Irish Marketing Institute. With a Masters Degree in Economics and a second Masters Degree in Banking and Finance, both from University College, Dublin, he is a former Ireland Schoolboy’s rugby international, winning 3 caps in 1985.
